New weed records are regularly published to GBIF by a range of data providers, including iNaturalist, DOC, regional councils, and both local and international herbaria. Please note that iNaturalist only publishes research-grade observations to GBIF, and these may take one to two weeks to appear after reaching research‑grade status.
Alert notifications
If any newly published weed records match your alert settings, you’ll receive an email notification containing the relevant records.
Alert notifications are currently sent out once a week.
Each alert notification includes a table summarising the number of new matching records by species:
Clicking on View the full report opens the alert web page. You can also access this page from your dashboard.
Weed records
From the web page, clicking on the View button on any row opens up the Weed records for the corresponding species.
From here, clicking on View Record opens the Weed record page, showing further details and a map showing the weed’s location.
Throughout these steps, you can also click on the species name to shows the Species web page, or the GBIF link to open the record on the GBIF website.
Dashboard
The SWAT Dashboard displays all your active alerts, your inbox including all your alert notifications, and your account details.
You can open your Dashboard using the link at the top of the SWAT website. We've also added a shortcut below.
