New weed records are regularly published to GBIF by a range of data providers. These include iNaturalist, DOC, regional councils, and both local and international herbaria. iNaturalist only publishes research-grade observations to GBIF. These may take one to two weeks to appear after they reach research‑grade status.
Alert notifications
If any newly published weed records match your alert settings, you will receive an email with the relevant records.
Alert notifications are currently sent out once a week.
Each alert notification includes a table that summarises the number of new matching records by species:
Selecting 'View the full report' opens the alert web page. You can also open this page from your dashboard.
Weed records
From the web page, select the 'View' button on any row to open 'Weed records' for that species.
From there, select 'View Record' to open the 'Weed record' page. This shows further details and a map of the weed’s location.
At each of these steps, you can also select the species name to open the 'Species' web page. You can select the GBIF link to open the record on the GBIF website.
Dashboard
The 'Dashboard' shows all your active alerts, your inbox (including all your alert notifications), and your account details.
