The Auckland Regional Pest Management Plan (RPMP) sets out how specific pest species will be managed in the Auckland Region. It is managed by Auckland Council.
Note that inclusion of a species on a RPMP does not necessarily mean that the species is managed across the whole region. To find out how a particular weed species is managed in your area, refer to the RPMP on the Bay of Plenty Regional Council website.
Taxonomy note
SWAT uses the global Catalogue of Life taxonomy, which does not always align with the taxonomies used in New Zealand. As a result, the species names or synonym relationships in the RPMP may differ from those used in SWAT. To see how the species in this RPMP are represented in SWAT, refer to the species list by management programme.
This RPMP includes blackberry (Rubus fruticosus agg.) under the Sustained Control management programme. The scientific name Rubus fruticosus agg. is ambiguous and not included in GBIF. SWAT has taken a broader approach and includes the Rubus genus, excluding native species. Your alerts may contain Rubus species not covered by this RPMP. See here for more details.
